Why Specify Brixon Latches?

VERSATILITY:
Brixon offers the widest pressure release range of any Factory Mutual (FM) approved explosion venting latch manufacturer, from as low as .01 PSI to pressure in excess of 3,000 pounds per door (using multiple latches).

RELIABILITY:
With an implementation of the simplest of maintenence a Brixon latch can be used and re-used for decades.

CONVENIENCE:
Nearly all Brixon latch designs allow for installation from flush to well over 1” offsets (measured from surface of door to surface of door jamb).

DISTINCTION:
Our #2SPAL and #2B are the only spark proof explosion venting latches available in the world. They are available with brass or aluminum cast housings. FM approved.

		Model #91 Made completely of stainless steel, the Model #91 replaces our original cast iron and zinc Model #1 with the same pressure release range, but with optimum performance in caustic, corrosive or abrasive environments. Release Force Range: 3.9 - 17 lbs (1.8 - 7.7 kg)




		Model #2 The Model #2 is available in iron, aluminum or brass cast housings. Brixon #2SPAL and #2B models are the only FM approved sparkproof latches available through any manufacturer. Stainless steel internal components are optional in non-sparkproof models. Release Force Range: 10 - 45 lbs (4.5 - 20 kg)




		Model #3 The Model #3 is available in aluminum cast housings. This versatile safely latch launched the Brixon Manufacturing Company in 1939. The aluminum model is ideal for exterior doors or whenever weight is a factor. Stainless steel internal components are optional. Please refer to the #83 steel model or the #93 stainless steel model for other latches with the same pressure release range. Release Force Range: 43 - 180 lbs (19.5 - 81.6 kg)




		Model #83 The Model #83 is available in cast steel and replaces the original cast iron Model #3. Precision investment cast for a superior surface finish, lighter weight and preferred design and functionality. Stainless steel internal components are optional. Please refer to the #3 aluminum model or the #93 stainless steel model for other latches with the same pressure release range. Release Force Range: 43 - 180 lbs (19.5 - 81.6 kg)




		Model #93 Made completely of stainless steel, the Model #93 provides the same pressure release range as our original cast iron Model #3, aluminum #3, and cast steel #83, but with optimum performance in caustic, corrosive or abrasive environments. 		Model #4 The Model #4 is available in aluminum cast housings. Pin through cam is stainless steel, with other stainless steel internal components optional. The #4 latches have the most variations and handle options and, together with the #84 and #94 models, are the largest and most powerful FM approved explosion venting latches made. 		Model #4HD & #410 For applications requiring multiple unlinked latches, these Heavy Duty models are ideal. Available in cast iron, they provide a lever assisted opening with no connecting linkage necessary. This model may be combined with a cast iron model #4 (#4HD) or purchased seperately as a stand-alone lever (#410).
